Greg Henry’s experience spans the realm of electric power operations and technology, from inside the home to bulk power generation. He is presently developing software for a large utility in the Southeast while doing NERC-related consulting and engineering. He is an alumni of Georgia Tech (MSECE ’04) and The University of Texas (BSEE ’03).

Greg is a Principal Engineer and Consultant at Phoenix Engineering Services, a small engineering and consulting services company based in Atlanta.

Before joining Phoenix, Greg was the Director for Grid Analytics at Black & Veatch, and prior to that he was a Senior Engineer at NERC in Reliability Initiatives and System Analysis. He has also previously worked at utilities Georgia Power and Baltimore Gas & Electric in power transmission and distribution engineering, as well as smart grid vendors Telvent (now a part of Schneider Electric) and Cellnet Technology (now a part of Landis+Gyr).

Greg received his Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech in December 2004 after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in May 2003. During his graduate studies, he worked with Dr. Miroslav Begovic and Dr. Ajeet Rohatgi in the field of power system modeling and optimization at the University Center of Excellence for Photovoltaics in Atlanta. While an undergrad, he worked with Dr. David Munton on phased-array signal processing at the Applied Research Laboratories in Austin.
